The Masseria Macchiarola is managed by the De Vita family: Giancarlo, Annamaria, and Marica are the children of Mrs. Nicolina Macchiarola who, 50 years ago, with her husband Franco, decided to purchase a rural property surrounded by impressive olive trees and wheat fields, to spend pleasant summers with the whole family. Previously, it was used for wine production; an old wine press was recently discovered in one of the rooms designated for guests.
About twenty years ago, a large part of the land was allocated to the winemaking activity of the Macchiarola Winery owned by Domenico Mangione, Annamaria's husband, while the building was dedicated to agricultural hospitality managed by the De Vita family, to accommodate many vacationers who have enjoyed the unique atmosphere that this location offers, immersed in the countryside but close to the splendid sea of ??the Upper Salento.
This year, the De Vita siblings have opted for a careful renovation that has expanded the number of rooms and added a large swimming pool, making the guests' stay even more complete.
