Masseria Macchiarola is managed by the De Vita family: Giancarlo, Annamaria and Marica are the children of Mrs. Nicolina Macchiarola who 50 years ago, with her husband Franco, decided to buy a rural structure surrounded by imposing olive trees and wheat fields, to spend pleasant summers with the whole family. Previously it was intended for the production of wine; an old millstone was recently unearthed in one of the guest rooms.
About twenty years ago, most of the land was used for the winemaking activity of the Macchiarola Winery of Domenico Mangione, Annamaria's husband, while the building was used for agricultural hospitality managed by the De Vita family, to accommodate many vacationers who enjoyed in these years of the particular atmosphere that this locality offers, immersed in the countryside but close to the splendid sea of ??the upper Salento.
This year the De Vita brothers opted for a careful renovation that expanded the number of rooms and added a large swimming pool, so as to make the guests' stay even more complete.
